Kate Bollinger Brings Folk, Pop, and Jazz to San Francisco

Bookmarked post

Kate Bollinger, a Charlottesville native, kicked off her West Coast tour at the Bottom of The Hill in San Francisco. Using a combination of folk, pop, indie and even jazz; Kate Bollinger brings ethereal energy and gentle melodies to the room. You could see the joy with the smile on her face while she sang “Yards / Gardens” and the emotion she showcased when she performed “Look at it in the Light”. Kate Bollinger’s lyrics encapsulate the feeling of being a 20-something year old perfectly, with her songs giving a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence.

Kate Bollinger’s set was warm and wistful; it felt familiar in some ways – like an old friend. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to dance to her music live, soak in her touching lyrics and appreciate her art!

The crowd sang along with Bollinger when she performed “Who Am I But Someone”, and swayed with her as they fed off her contagious energy. Towards the end of her set, Bollinger invited Foteyn, the opener, to sing a duet of her new song that had come out that very day, “Pictures of You”.
