Beach Weather’s Electrifying Performance at Summit Music Hall

As the lights dimmed at Summit Music Hall, a wave of anticipation swept through the crowd, their excitement palpable as the bright fluorescent sign emblazoned with the words ‘Pineapple Sunrise’ illuminated their faces. The group consisting of — Nick Santino [vocals, guitar], Reeve Powers [bass], and Sean Silverman [production], commonly known as Beach Weather, took to the stage in a striking fashion, immediately capturing the undivided attention of the entire room.

Santino was dressed in an impressive Western-cowboy ensemble, with vibrant pops of red in his eye-catching boots and a fitting cowboy hat that completed the look. The group began the show with one of my personal favorite songs, “Chit Chat” of their 2016 EP of the same name. The band radiated enthusiasm and passion, their bright expressions reflecting the infectious energy they brought to the stage. The crowd was undeniably swept up in the music, irresistibly drawn to bop along to every beat and melody. The dynamic interplay between Santino, Powers, and Silverman was a sight to behold, each member feeding off the other’s energy as they seamlessly navigated through each song.

Something that particularly caught my attention was the meticulous attention to detail evident on stage and throughout the entire show. The stage was adorned with an abundance of flowers and vibrant lights, transforming it into a cinematic setting rather than just a performance platform. Beach Weather skillfully orchestrated every aspect of the show, ensuring that it unfolded seamlessly like a captivating story.

Throughout the show, you could tell that the group was making an effort to be engaging with the crowd and make their show more unique. They even pulled our props during the show, using an old telephone as a microphone for one song during the set. At one point, Santino took off a few sunflowers from the stage to hand to a few lucky fans in the crowd. It is small gestures like this that connect the crowd to the artist and create a bond that transcends the night.

Beach Weather concluded their explosive show with their song, ‘Sex, Drugs, Etc.‘ — a viral sensation on social media in 2020 that has since become an emblem of their electrifying performances, leaving audiences craving for more. Amidst the sea of swaying bodies, pockets of fans could be seen mouthing the lyrics with devotion, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of their cell phones.

As the final notes faded into the night, there was a collective sense of euphoria—a lingering echo of the magic that had unfolded onstage. As I left the venue that night, I couldn’t help but think about how amazing it was to be able to experience a set like this and be able to keep these memories with me long after the music had ended.
